Course dedicated to Survival Functions

To request registration or for information

Goals:

Construct parametric and nonparametric estimates of survival functions, compare two or more survival functions.

Techniques presented:

Survival Analysis Techniques (Descriptive Analysis, Survival Curves, Univariate and Multivariate Analysis).

 

Cost:

The cost of the entire SURV Online course (5 sessions, for a total of 12 hours) is 600.00 Euros (excluding VAT) per participant.

Tutorials:

There are exercises for each of the topics covered.

 

Prerequisites:

Attendance to the course is preparatoryTESTS Online (or have attended TSC on the calendar) or have knowledge of the topics it contains.

Attendance at the course is recommendedREG.

 

Duration:

Online course lasting 12 hours, divided into 5 sessions, the first of which is 2 hours and the other four are 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Frequency:

Our online courses are delivered in live mode in order to guarantee the maximuminteractionand collaboration betweenprofessorAndparticipants. For this reason, the presence of the participants in all lessons is considered essential.

In case of absence from a lesson, the Training Staff will send the learner the points and exercises covered during the skipped lesson.

If you miss more than one lesson, the Training Staff reserves the right not to send the student the certificate of participation.

Certificate of attendance:

At the end of the course the certificate of participation will be issued.

Topics that will be addressed for each session:

First session (2 hours)

Survival databases: characteristics; The survival/risk functions

  • The time variable and the status variable (data with events and censor data)

  • Create a data set for survival analysis

  • The survival function

  • The risk function

 

Second session (2 hours and 30 minutes)

Descriptive analysis of survival

  • Construct survival curves

  • Kaplan-Meier Method (Product Limit)

  • Actuarial method (Life-table)

  • The calculation of the median follow-up

  • Calculation of median survival

 

Third session (2 hours and 30 minutes)

Univariate analysis

  • Compare survival curves

  • The Log-Rank test (Mantel-Haenzel)

  • Practise

 

Fourth session (2 hours and 30 minutes)

Multivariate analysis

  • All possible analyzes obtainable from the “Kaplan-Meier” menu in Statistics

  • Introduction to the Logistic Regression model preparatory to the Cox model

  • Practise

 

Fifth session (2 hours and 30 minutes)

Multivariate analysis

  • Introduction to the statistical model

  • Introduction to Cox's proportional hazards model

  • Summary practical exercises
