What's the LaunchBox?
It's a tool designed to make it easier to:
-
download the software Statistics for Data Analysis which includes SPSS Statistics and further Add-Ons
-
activate the license
-
start the software (after the first download)
-
automatically update the software since each time it is started, it automatically detects new software releases, fix packs, patches, new add-ons or updates of existing ones.
-
enter both informative (e.g. the dates of the next courses) and in-depth contents (e.g. user manuals)
If you haven't installed it yet, you can download the LaunchBox from the following link:

Launch the executable by double-clicking on the "Installation Setup" file, which is usually located in the "Download" folder on your PC, for example:
Follow the steps of the installation wizard until the installation is confirmed, after which the Statistics for Data Analysis icon will appear on the desktop:
Start the Statistics for Data Analysis application by double-clicking on the icon.
If you do not have sufficient rights on the machine, you may need to start the application with administrator permissions: right-click on the icon and select "Run as administrator".
Each time you start the software (after the first installation), always double-click on the Statistics for Data Analysis icon that is installed on your desktop, so that it can automatically detect the presence of updates or fix packs not only for LaunchBox, but also for SPSS Statistics.
The LaunchBox looks like this, where, for example, you can click on "Start" to start the software

Follow all the steps in the point above (What is the LaunchBox?).
Open the LaunchBox, make sure that v. 29 is selected in the drop-down menu and click on "Start".
At this point, the LaunchBox will guide you through the installation of SPSS Statistics v. 27, any FixPacks and Add-Ons.
Once installation is complete, you can proceed with license activation:

immediately after the installation
-
at a later date, following the instructions in the "Instructions for activating the license".
Instructions to install Statistics for Data Analysis V. 29 if you have the LaunchBox
Open the LaunchBox, go to the Dashboard, select v. 29 in the drop-down menu and click "Start".
At this point, the LaunchBox will guide you through the installation of SPSS Statistics v. 29, any FixPacks and Add-Ons.
Once installation is complete, you can proceed with license activation:

immediately after the installation
-
at a later date, following the instructions in the "Instructions for activating the license".
Instructions to activate the license for Statistics for Data Analysis
The license codes of Statistics for Data Analysis can be:

Authorized user
-
Concurrent user
In the first case, you have a classic stand-alone client license on your PC, which must be activated by entering a code in the License Wizard.
Follow the following steps:

Open the LaunchBox

Go to the section Further Tools
-
Open with a click the Wizard Authorization License
-
Go on to the first step, where the license status appears
-
Select the first option (Authorized user license) and go on
-
Enter the license code you received when ordering in the space provided.
In the second case, however, your company (or organisation) has purchased a competing license, shared with other colleagues, so you need to get in touch with your company's IT technicians.

Instructions to install and activate the package Premium PScore
To install the module Premium PScore follow the following steps:

Open the LaunchBox

Go to the Add-On section, where new ones appear at the top, including the Premium PScore package.

Select the Premium package and click on Install to open the dialogue box in which to enter the access details provided by the SPS team when ordering, before proceeding to the actual installation of the Premium package.

Enter the data exactly as stated in the order and press "Send".

This will install the Pscore, after which a window will appear to warn of a successful installation.
Once the Premium package has been installed, it appears in the list of installed Add-Ons and additional content can be viewed, including a user manual and a file to go through the proposed practical example.
Instructions to install Amos V. 29
To install Amos V. 29 follow the following steps:

Open the LaunchBox

Go to the section Additional Tools
-
Click on Statistics Amos V. 29 and click on Install
At the end of the installation, the License Authorisation Wizard opens, where you enter the Amos-specific code provided at the time of purchase.
Please note that Amos has its own Wizard and code, separate from SPSS Statistics.

To start Amos after the first installation go to Start/ IBM SPSS Amos/ IBM SPSS Amos 29 Graphics.
